Measurement of cos2β in B0 →d (∗)h0 with D → KS0 π+π- decays by a combined time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of B a B ar and Belle data
2018 · ARTICLE · en
We report measurements of sin2β and cos2β using a time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of B0→D(∗)h0 with D→KS0π+π- decays, where the light unflavored and neutral hadron h0 is a π0, η, or ω meson. The analysis uses a combination of the final data sets of the BaBar and Belle experiments containing 471×106 and 772×106 BB pairs collected at the (4S) resonance at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. We measure sin2β=0.80±0.14(stat)±0.06(syst)±0.03(model) and cos2β=0.91±0.22(stat)±0.09(syst)±0.07(model). The result for the direct measurement of the angle is β=(22.5±4.4(stat)±1.2(syst)±0.6(model))°. The last quoted uncertainties are due to the composition of the D0→KS0π+π- decay amplitude model, which is newly established by a Dalitz plot amplitude analysis of a high-statistics e+e-→cc data sample as part of this analysis. We find the first evidence for cos2β>0 at the level of 3.7 standard deviations. The measurement excludes the trigonometric multifold solution π/2-β=(68.1±0.7)° at the level of 7.3 standard deviations and therefore resolves an ambiguity in the determination of the apex of the CKM Unitarity Triangle. The hypothesis of β=0° is ruled out at the level of 5.1 standard deviations, and thus CP violation is observed in B0→D(∗)h0 decays. The measurement assumes no direct CP violation in B0→D(∗)h0 decays. © 2018 authors. Published by the American Physical Society.
Evidence of a structure in K¯0Λc+ consistent with a charged Ξ c(2930) + , and updated measurement of B¯0→K¯0Λc+Λ¯c- at Belle
2018 · ARTICLE · en
We report evidence for the charged charmed-strange baryon Ξ c(2930) + with a signal significance of 3.9σ with systematic errors included. The charged Ξ c(2930) + is found in its decay to KS0Λc+ in the substructure of B¯0→KS0Λc+Λ¯c- decays. The measured mass and width are [2942.3 ± 4.4 (stat.) ± 1.5 (syst.)] MeV/c2 and [14.8 ± 8.8 (stat.) ± 2.5 (syst.)] MeV, respectively, and the product branching fraction is B(B¯0→Ξc(2930)+Λ¯c-)B(Ξc(2930)+→K¯0Λc+)=[2.37±0.51(stat.)±0.31(syst.)]×10-4. We also measure B(B¯0→K¯0Λc+Λ¯c-)=[3.99±0.76(stat.)±0.51(syst.)]×10-4 with greater precision than previous experiments, and present the results of a search for the charmonium-like state Y(4660) and its spin partner, Yη, in the Λc+Λ¯c- invariant mass spectrum. No clear signals of the Y(4660) or Yη are observed and the 90% credibility level (C.L.) upper limits on their production rates are determined. These measurements are obtained from a sample of (772 ± 11) × 10 6BB¯ pairs collected at the Υ (4 S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. © 2018, The Author(s).
Observation of e+e- →π+π-π0χb1,2 (1P) and search for e+e- →φχb1,2 (1P) at s =10.96 - 11.05 GeV
2018 · ARTICLE · en
We report searches for the processes e+e-→π+π-π0χbJ and e+e-→φχbJ (J=1, 2) based on data samples collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB collider. We report the first observation of the process e+e-→(π+π-π0)non-ωχb1 and first evidence for e+e-→ωχbJ in the vicinity of the ?(11020) resonance, with center-of-mass energies from 10.96 to 11.05 GeV. The significances for (π+π-π0)non-ωχb1 and ωχbJ are greater than 5.3σ and 4.0σ, respectively. We also investigate the energy dependence of the e+e-→π+π-π0χbJ cross section, but we cannot determine whether the contributions are from the ?(10860) and ?(11020) resonances or nonresonant continuum processes. The signals for e+e-→φχbJ are not significant, and the upper limits of the Born cross sections at the 90% confidence level are 0.7 and 1.0 pb for e+e-→φχb1 and φχb2, respectively, for center-of-mass energies from 10.96 to 11.05 GeV. © 2018 authors. We report the measurement of γγ→ηc(1S),ηc(2S)→η′π+π- with η′ decays to γρ and ηπ+π- using 941 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The ηc(1S) mass and width are measured to be M=[2984.6±0.7 (stat)±2.2 (syst)±0.3 (model)] MeV/c2 and Γ=[30.8-2.2+2.3 (stat)±2.5 (syst)±1.4 (model)] MeV, respectively. First observation of ηc(2S)→η′π+π- with a significance of 5.5σ including systematic error is obtained, and the ηc(2S) mass is measured to be M=[3635.1±3.7 (stat)±2.9 (syst)±0.4 (model)] MeV/c2. The products of the two-photon decay width and branching fraction (B) of decays to η′π+π- are determined to be ΓγγΓγγB=[65.4±2.6 (stat)±7.8 (syst)] eV for ηc(1S) and [5.6-1.1+1.2 (stat)±1.1 (syst)] eV for ηc(2S). The cross sections for γγ→η′π+π- and η′f2(1270) are measured for the first time. © 2018 authors. Published by the American Physical Society.

Inclusive study of bottomonium production in association with an η meson in e+e- annihilations near Υ(5 S) : Belle Collaboration
2018 · ARTICLE · en
We study bottomonium production in association with an η meson in e+e- annihilations near the Υ(5 S) , at a centre-of-mass energy of s=10.866 GeV. The results are based on the 121.4 fb- 1 data sample collected by the Belle experiment at the asymmetric-energy KEKB collider. Only the η meson is reconstructed and the missing-mass spectrum of η candidates is investigated. We observe the e+e-→ ηΥJ(1 D) process and find evidence for the e+e-→ ηΥ(2 S) process, while no significant signals of Υ(1 S) , hb(1 P) , nor hb(2 P) are found. Cross sections for the studied processes are reported. © 2018, The Author(s).
Search for B- →μ- ν μ Decays at the Belle Experiment
2018 · ARTICLE · en
We report the results of a search for the rare, purely leptonic decay B-→μ-ν μ performed with a 711 fb-1 data sample that contains 772×106 BB pairs, collected near the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The signal events are selected based on the presence of a high momentum muon and the topology of the rest of the event showing properties of a generic B-meson decay, as well as the missing energy and momentum being consistent with the hypothesis of a neutrino from the signal decay. We find a 2.4 standard deviation excess above background including systematic uncertainties, which corresponds to a branching fraction of B(B-→μ-νμ)=(6.46±2.22±1.60)×10-7 or a frequentist 90% confidence level interval on the B-→μ-ν μ branching fraction of [2.9,10.7]×10-7. © 2018 authors. Measurement of the branching fraction of B →d (∗)πν at Belle using hadronic tagging in fully reconstructed events
2018 · ARTICLE · en
We report a measurement of the branching fractions of the decays B→D(∗)πν. The analysis uses 772×106 BB. pairs produced in e+e-→(4S) data recorded by the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The tagging B meson in the decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. On the signal side, we reconstruct the decay B→D(∗)πν(=e,μ). The measured branching fractions are B(B+→D-π++ν)=[4.55±0.27 (stat.)±0.39 (syst.)]×10-3, B(B0→D.0π-+ν)=[4.05±0.36 (stat.)±0.41 (syst.)]×10-3, B(B+→D∗-π++ν)=[6.03±0.43 (stat.)±0.38 (syst.)]×10-3, and B(B0→D.∗0π-+ν)=[6.46±0.53 (stat.)±0.52 (syst.)]×10-3. These are in good agreement with the current world-average values. © 2018 authors. Published by the American Physical Society.
